Remlinger Farms - Seattle

Happiness is going on a little boat with your sister and watching plastic fake duckies swim in front of you.

More on Remlinger Farms later. It was a fun place for a half day trip near Seattle. The kids and adults enjoyed it.

Cool girls

Went to WalMart earlier today. As usual, the little one enforced her new policy.

Cannot leave shop without buying her something, anything.

Today it was glasses. So the kids picked up glasses. Five dollars a piece. Considering all the long car rides that await us over summer, decided to buy them the glasses..

They did pose for pictures as soon as we came home

Indoors...

and outdoors..

Cool, no?

ps. Tonight at bed time, little one said "I was mad at you yesterday so did not say sorry. Can say sorry now and give you a kiss!" . Like WA said, this too shall pass..

Stubborn

How hard can it be to say sorry to your dad?

Especially after you have just kicked him hard

that too after he begged you to come drink your milk before going to bed

not once , not twice, but close to twenty times

when holding that glass in his hand that long alone was enough to cause pain.

How hard can it really be?

Why do you have to cry a lot but still not be able to come out and say the magic word, knowing that all will be forgiven (or already has been) and the saying sorry is more of a token gesture

why would you not say sorry even after your big sister tells you that what you did was plain wrong and all it takes is one word

why not, even after your big sister asks you "you can't say it because you are crying, do you want me to say sorry to daddy for you?" and you nod your head "no" in between all the crying and would still not say sorry?

was it because your daddy told you that he won't love you if you keep saying "I hate my sister" or call her names?

was it really worth kicking me in the leg and falling backwards and hurting yourself in the process?

will you remember any of the stuff you did tonight, when you wake up in the morning and ask for my arm to put your head on and say "can we just sleep for five more minutes?"

Probably not.

But you might read this post twenty years from now and realize what you put your dad through, on a regular basis.

Here's to morning...

ps. Should tell my mother that compared to the little one, I was an angel. She might actually agree.

Bubble queen

Sporting a haircut by daddy, borrowed shoes from Paati and taking advantage of a very pleasant day outside...

Two weeks ago, it was one bubble after 10 minutes of trying. Now she just fills the space with bubbles effortlessly. She told me that she is practicing everyday, just like daddy taught her, so she can blow more bubbles..

She has finally found an activity that she can do by herself without involving anyone else and that means no fighting with akka every now and then.

As for daddy, this is a great photo op!

Doing tricks

Daddy has been having more than his regular share of headaches the last couple of days and decided to go have a massive haircut this evening.

The little one promptly declared that daddy looked more handsome after the haircut. Tonight during the usual "will you sleep with me for just 5 minutes please?" phase, she rubbed her hand over my hair ..

LO : Daddy your hair is doing tricks daddy!

Me : what do you mean?

LO : When I thadavi(caress) it up it is rough but when I thadavi it down it is sooo smooth. It is like magic.

I started laughing first, then wondered.. "wait a second, she does this all the time.. so why wasn't this magic discovered earlier?"

and the answer was

"before it was rough on both up and down thadavi's"

Something tells me that the little one might do a Ph.D. or at least go towards science and technology as she grows older.

She might even take up materials science for all we know!

On a completely different note, the head feels lighter, literally and figuratively and somehow it makes it look like daddy has more hair after the haircut than before. Must be some kind of optical illusion created by exposing the scalp.

Who knew?

Sometimes, less is more!
